Spiritual wandering week
Only when you have been somewhere by foot have you really been there.
We start from the Bedouin village St. Catherin, which is 1700m high.
During this week we will have 2 base camps from which we will hike up to 2600m.
The Greek-Orthodox Katharinen abbey has been one of the most important sites of pilgrimages since the 15th century.
Never the less, it is a must to hike up to the Holy Mountain Horeb (also called Moses Mountain). Here is where Moses received the tablets containing the 10 Commandments from God.
Among other activities during this week, we will participate with the Monks in a Morning Prayer service before hiking up to the Moses Mountain.
In a separate valley we will visit an herb-garden that is tended by an old doctor. Because of his vast knowledge about herbs people seeking help from throughout all of Egypt turn to him for advice.
Wandering on this Holy Pilgrim Trail in this region is conducive to inner cleansing.
During this spiritual week long experience I offer you an inner orientation to what may want to be changed in your life.
If the wish for a new orientation, a new step, or a change is great, something “old” may be fully appreciated and if necessary let go.
I support through meditation and collective reflection.
In order to participate in this journey you must be in good physical health.
The camels on this journey are primarily used for cargo (not so much for riding).
